New J. Crew Men’s Shop in Full Swing
Today the new J. Crew Men’s Shop finally opened on Broadway between Madewell and Topshop at Broome Street. It is a fully stocked men’s shop with a suit parlor in the rear. They seem to be making this their flagship men’s store as they have now closed the Prince Street Shop for renovations. The Prince store will now only carry CrewCuts and the Women’s Collection
The Broadway Men’s Shop has even more vintage pieces than the Liqour Store in TriBeCa. Highlights include Rolex Oyster Pearl Perpetual watches with bright green and bright blue faces ($2800). They are also stocking everything English. Alden shoes made specifically for the store, Macintosh raincoats, and Mister Freedom bags and jackets. Their new suits which run between $400-$600 are 100% Loro Piana wool as are their new cashmere sweaters which run at about $200. In contrast to the Ralph Lauren sweaters which use the same fabric for twice the price.
In addition, they are selling vintage books and magazines; most notable were the mint condition copies of Esquire Magazine- all decades old.
