This is Flying Lotus, Steve Ellison, LA. He fuses the subtle tones of jazz with hip-hop bass that walks. Some of his songs are in the music player at left. Using the collage of computer monitors across his desk, he is able to create sounds and rhythms so exact that “no human hands could play” them. These talents are illustrated beautifully in his remix of “My Room Is White!” by La Ninja.
FL shows his interest in the slow parts of jazz in his own song “Tea Leaf Dancers,” and his ability to energize a song in his remix of Kanye West’s “Love Lockdown.”
