The Lightest Luggage: Globe-Trotter 110
110th anniversary of Globe-Trotter
The designer, Ross Lovegrove, combined the technologies of carbon fiber and kevlar into what Globe-Trotter calls a 3X Fiber. The custom weave makes this anniversary luggage the lightest in the world, at 1.35kg. The weave also makes this suitcase five times stronger than steel.
At just under 3lbs and for $3,000 you cram a whole lot of extra stuff and still make weight at the airport check-in counter.
