Lines at Topshop
These doors might as well still be closed.
[Doors of Topshop during Editor’s Preview.]
After revisiting the new British store in SoHo to see the constantly changing DJ’s and the rest of their spring clothing line, it has been nearly impossible to get into the store without waiting in lines that extend around the block. After almost losing all interest in seeing the fashions as they come out, I will finally be making a trip back to see what’s actually happening inside that is attracting so many people.
In the meantime I suggest walking straight through the line that extends around the corner, and telling the large Topshop securities that you’re just going into Madewell next door.

Not only is their womens clothing well cut and designed, it is reasonably priced. They also have pieces in the store from outside designers… limited edition sets. The CEO of J. Crew is often seen speaking to the sales associates in store.
And look what’s opening next door…

I think Topshop is going to have to muscle up to take the niche that J. Crew has created in Soho. MORE ON THESE NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS SOON.
