Polaroid Saved?

The Impossible Project is trying to bring back Polaroid Cameras (someone has to) and they have the help of Urban Outfitters.  The Impossible Project bought up a lot of old Polaroid Stock and even bought machinery from the closed down Polaroid factory in the Netherlands.  Now Urban Outfitters will be selling 700 of these limited edition cameras.  Hopefully with the help of Urban Outfitters, The Impossible Project will accomplish their goal of putting analog instant film back into production by 2010.

This escalator animation comes from “The Magic World of Mister Kama.”  Mister Kama works in graphic art, especially film and graffiti art.  This is one of his film shorts, an animation made on an escalator.

Windows by Luc Dratwa

This set of photographs by Luc Dratwa were taken on the 66th floor of Rockefellar Center.  The exhibition entitled, “Windows” is the artist’s first solo exhibition.  It was certainly prudent to print them in drastic proportions.  The photo’s are printed 1.5 x 1m in order to emphasize the gravity of the skyline and the dramatic effect of peering through the windows.

Luc Dratwa

The photographs are part of his exhibit at the Young Gallery in Brussels.  As an exhibit, it seems they avoid both the cliche of photographing the New York skyline, as well as the cliche of peering through a window.  If you’re in Brussels, the photographs will be on display from August 3rd to the 12th.
