Empire of the Sun- Standing on the Shore
We didn’t really expect the Empire of the Sun’s videos to get any stranger. We also didn’t expect so many of their songs to be this good.
New or old, most important to us is that the letters come together. Fashion + Art, Athletics + Society whatever we find Doing More.

Both brother and sister have taken collaboration deals recently to release pairs of sneakers. Samantha’s set of Supra Indy’s are now available available at Factory 413.

Her brother Mark on the other hand is involved in an international sneaker launch. There will be Gucci pop-up shops staring in October in New York (Crosby St), Miami, London, Berlin, Hong Kong, Tokyo and possibly more. Ronson will have a signature trainer for each city that will include silver or gold metal dog tags, the classic Gucci stripe and logo, as well as a monogrammable leather tag on the laces.

In addition anyone who buys the shoes will recieve a 12-inch vinyl record with exclusive Mark Ronson tracks. Ronson says, “I spent many many years as an avid sneaker collector, so I wanted to make sure these Gucci shoes were truly special, both from an aesthetic point of view and a collectable one. Frida and I also agreed it was important for there to be a unique musical element to the project, so I’m going to be collaborating with artists, making limited edition tracks for each store opening.” While the Ronson-Gucci Shoes will be high priced between $500-$600, we’ll be on the lookout for the exclusive tracks.
Phoenix-Lisztomania (Classixx Remix)
Somehow Classixx came up with this drastic remix of Phoenix’s song Lisztomania from their album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Listen to the original and see their video below and tell me you had seen this remix coming. Also, don’t forget their previous achievement, the collaboration with Cobrasnake on the video for “I’ll Get You.”
Hear more of Classixx’s remixes that are undeniably summer.

Kitsune feat. Jeppe- I’ll Get You (Royal Rumble Remix)

Most interesting about this short has to be the way he employs the “tilt-shift time-lapse” technique. The technique is also called “fake miniature” and was also used for a recent Nike video. We think that Director Kieth Loutit uses the technique even better in “Bathtub IV”. On a side note the music is Megan Washington’s “Clementine.”
Models are still losing out to celebrities with this new handbag campaign from Chanel- it features Lily Allen as the new face of the brand. Karl Lagerfeld personally chose Lily for the role, and shot the photographs himself. (You can even see Mr. Lagerfeld in the foreground of the picure below.) The bags, which will be released this September will start at around $1,500. Many have said the campaign looks very reminiscent of Breakfast at Tiffany’s and we can’t help but agree.
