Recently there has been much hype around the various G-Shock collaborations, culminating in Kanye’s monstrous party at the Wall Street Cipriani’s for G-Shock’s “Shock the World” tour. But with everyone looking for that “cool” neon colored plastic watch thank God there is finally an option.
These are some of the new Timex pieces specially for Opening Ceremony($75). They have enlarged the display and the wristband, as well as the obvious color changes. These old school watches are asthetically head and shoulders above the big new globs by G-Shock.
Monocle opened their first U.S. store on April 6 in LA:
As the sign on the London shop notes, another store plans to be opened in Zurich. That would make it London(4/2009), New York City and Tokyo (to open later in 2009), Zurich, and Los Angeles
The stores are filled with with unique stationary, fragrance and candles, handbags, scarves, etc. Items are products of Monocle collaborations with designers such as Comme des Garcons, Drakes London, and Valextra. Be sure to check out the Valextra website. Monocle+Valextra should be amazing.
